Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist has been appointed as Europe’s captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup against the United States in the Netherlands.
The 37-year-old, a three-time major champion, has competed in nine Solheim Cups, securing 17 victories, drawing three, and losing 15 of her 35 matches.
She served as a playing vice-captain when Europe retained the trophy after a tie in Spain in 2023 and again in 2024, when the US triumphed 15½-12½ in Virginia, reclaiming the title for the first time in seven years.
“I am incredibly honored to take on this role,” Nordqvist said.
“Regardless of winning or losing, the Solheim Cup has been a defining part of my career since my debut in 2009 in Chicago.
“The friendships formed and the unforgettable experiences over the nine events I’ve played make it truly special to lead as European captain in my 10th Solheim Cup.”
The 2026 tournament is set to take place at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt from 11-13 September.
